A 19-year-old woman, Isatu S. Conteh, from Sella Limba Chiefdom, has been allegedly subjected to severe physical assault by an Operational Support Division (OSD) officer attached to the Kamakwie Police Division.

The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice, reportedly involved the Station Sergeant (SS) at the division, known only as "Susu Boy."

Details of the assault remain unclear, but reports indicate that Conteh sustained significant injuries. The local community, deeply disturbed by the incident, has expressed serious concern over the alleged actions of the officer. They are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and calling for the officer to be held accountable for his alleged actions.

A community leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the incident was unacceptable and that they could not tolerate young people being subjected to violence by those who are supposed to protect them. They described it as a blatant abuse of power and demanded swift justice.

The incident has also drawn the attention of human rights organizations, who condemned the alleged brutality and called for a comprehensive review of police conduct in the region. A representative from a local human rights group stated that the assault was a stark reminder of the ongoing issue of police brutality and the need for stricter accountability measures within law enforcement agencies. They urged the authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure that those responsible for the heinous act were held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

The Kamakwie Police Division is yet to issue a statement on the incident. However, the authorities are expected to respond to the growing public concern and initiate an investigation into the allegations against “Susu Boy” to ensure justice for Isatu and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
