Good News: Sierra Leone and Rwanda Strengthen Ties at African Food Systems Forum
Sierra Leone's Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, met with Rwandan Prime Minister Édouard Ngirente on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, at the African Food Systems Forum in Kigali.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and accelerating the implementation of existing agreements and MOUs between the two countries.
During his address to the forum on Sierra Leone's Legacy Program and Country Dealroom Launch, Dr. Sengeh emphasized the importance of building an inclusive food system for a sustainable future in Africa.
He highlighted Sierra Leone's "Feed Salone" initiative, launched by President Julius Maada Bio, stating that it aims to boost local economies and ensure access to locally produced food for all citizens.
The meeting between the two leaders signifies a commitment to strengthening ties between Sierra Leone and Rwanda and collaborating towards achieving common goals in the food security sector.
