Sierra Leone Coach Amidu Karim Vows Victory Against Zambia in AFCON Qualifier

Sierra Leone's national football coach, Amidu Karim, is feeling the heat as his team gears up for a pivotal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Zambia on Tuesday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. With the pressure mounting following a goalless draw in their opening match, Karim has made it clear that his focus is on securing a win.

“As long as you are a coach in a team, you have to accept the pressure,” Karim stated. He emphasized the importance of a strong approach in their upcoming match, saying, “We know we drew our first match 0-0, so our approach is that we have to come here tomorrow to win.”

Karim expressed confidence in his players, declaring, “Me and my boys will be ready to pick up a fight with Zambia. We have quality players; all of my players are very important.” His optimism reflects a belief in the team's potential to rise to the occasion against a challenging opponent.

The coach also acknowledged the strengths of the Zambian squad, noting his familiarity with their capabilities. “I played against Zambia in the U23s two years ago. I know they are very athletic players,” he said.

With both teams vying for crucial points in Group H, Karim's bold declaration sets the stage for an exciting encounter. Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see if Sierra Leone can deliver on their coach's promise and secure a vital victory in their AFCON campaign.
