Kadiru Kaikai Tenders Apology Amidst Threat of Bringing War in Sierra Leone

Controversial politician and member of the Sierra Leone People's Party, Abdul Kadiru Kaikai, has tendered an apology for his reckless utterances to bring "serious war" in Sierra Leone if not elected president in the post 2028 general elections.

His statement brought intense outrage from patriots, who regarded his statements as disdainful and childish. For many, such statements instill fear, as relics of the eleven years Civil War in the country remain fresh.

Fellow citizens, upon reflection on the statement I made in respect of the 2028 presidential elections, I have come to terms that it was dangerous, irresponsible and has no place in our society. From the bottom of my heart, I tender my profound apology to the entire nation for that unfortunate incident.

Being the responsible and peaceful citizen I have always been, and a husband and father, I hereby recommit myself that going forward, my words and actions will be consistent with respecting our democratic principles, consolidation of our peace and embracing national unity.

I have also taken note of the huge public reaction to the said statement and wish to commend the public for demonstrating that regardless our divisions, we continue to stand together for peace. I cannot be prouder of my fellow citizens.

Once again, my sincere apologies and hope that this serves as a lesson for all of us to keep the peace, in our words and actions.
